GOLDEN VALLEY (August 2019) – Wenck welcomes Marc Wertwijn, Leith Simpson, Tim Harkins, Kyle Grandell, Mark Petersen, and Thomas Raffin to our Facility & Process Engineering team. All six individuals are trusted technical experts with years of experience and expertise in electrical and control processing engineering. They have long-standing relationships with many clients in the Food & Beverage, Agriculture, and Manufacturing space.
Wertwijn has over 25 years of automation experience from single-machine control systems to complete plant automation for a broad range of industries and many diverse projects. He will serve as an Electrical Engineering Manager focusing on client management and mentorship of the growing team. Wertwijn obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Simpson has been a part of a variety of food & beverage and process chemical projects over the years, across all project stages from concept phase design guidance, through to detailed design development and construction support. He will serve as a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on low voltage power distribution and controls wiring contractor work packages and specifications, as well as control panel design and programming of Allen Bradley PLC & Motor Control Systems. Simpson obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in mechatronics from the University of Queensland in Australia.
Harkins has ten years of experience in electrical and controls engineering. He will serve as a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on electrical infrastructure layouts/designs, load calculations, cable tray/conduit routing/sizing, lighting design, grounding & bonding, PLC programming, HMI design, control panel engineering, instrumentation, and networking. Harkins obtained a Bachelor of Science in electronic engineering Technology from Minnesota State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota.
Grandell has over ten years of engineering experience along with over five years of electrical contracting and construction management experience. He will serve as an Electrical Engineer focusing on planning and development of bidding and construction documents and field support during construction, start-up, and commissioning for industrial process and manufacturing clients throughout the U.S. Grandell obtained a Bachelor of electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, and maintains his Class A Master Electrician license in Minnesota.
Petersen has over 20 years of experience in electrical engineering. He specializes in electrical drafting and design using different varieties of CAD software, along with 3D equipment modelling and layout for electrical systems. Petersen obtained an Associate of Arts degree in mechanical drafting and design from North Hennepin Community College and Hennepin Technical College.
Raffin has over 34 years of professional experience in the power engineering and construction industry, including ten years with a major oil refinery, five years with a major construction company, and 24 years in the engineering consulting business. Raffin obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois along with an MBA from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.
