Storm Water Project Selected as Minnesota Environmental Initiative Award Finalist

Wenck congratulates its client, Metro Metals Corporation, on being selected as a finalist for the Minnesota Environmental Initiative Award. The Metro Metal’s Underground Storm Water Management System was nominated in the category of Green Business and Environmental Management.

Wenck designed the innovative system which uses recycled tire shreds in an underground storm water storage pond. The project was conceived in response to Metro Metal’s efforts to manage its storm water on-site in an effective, efficient system that preserves surface area used for business operations.

Wenck Announces Opening of Mandan, ND Office

Wenck Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Mandan, ND. Kevin Magstadt, P.E. will be leading Wenck’s newest office and will serve Wenck’s clients in the western Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming.

Magstadt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada-Reno and holds a Masters degree in Management from the University of Mary in Bismarck. He was previously employed by Montana Dakota Utilities, where he was the Community Development Manager. Magstadt has also been active in local government, serving on the City of Bismarck’s Renaissance Zone Authority, the City of Bismarck’s Downtown Redevelopment Committee, the Burleigh County Planning & Zoning Commission, and the Economic Development Association of North Dakota. He is also on the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce and the Mercer County Economic Development Association.

Wenck Ranks as One of Twin Cities' "Best Places to Work"

Wenck Associates, Inc. was selected as one of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's "Best Places to Work" for 2008 based on employee survey responses.

Employees rated the company based on criteria such as working environment, opportunity for growth and development, and daily working practices. The firm ranked 11th among medium-sized companies, defined as having 101 to 1,000 employees. The ranking is up from 13th place last year.

Wenck's President, Joe Grabowski, credits the repeat award to the firm's success in maintaining open communication and being a 100% employee-owned company. Wenck's clients also play a vital role in creating a positive work environment at the company. "Our clients enjoy and want to work with a firm where members take pride in everything they do," says Grabowski.
