Wenck has designed and permitted numerous leachate management systems for solid waste landfills as well as facilities where the ultimate treatment and disposal of the collected leachate is for transport to a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).  In cases where a WWTP is not a viable leachate treatment option, Wenck has implemented many innovative leachate management alternatives including:

• Leachate Spray Irrigation - Wenck engineered and permitted the first approved leachate spray irrigation sites for MSW landfills in both Minnesota and Iowa.
• Leachate Recirculation - Wenck has worked closely with many clients and the MPCA implementing and overseeing leachate recirculation of pilot projects.
• Evaporation ponds, pretreatment alternatives, etc.
